LEED Certification and Experience

At DAC, we realize that Green design not only makes a positive impact on public health and the environment, but that it also reduces operating costs, enhances building and organizational marketability, increases occupant productivity and helps create a sustainable community.

LEED iconWe have adopted Green building practices as a company philosophy, and have committed to becoming a builder on the forefront of Green building construction. To accomplish this, we have committed to training our project managers to become LEED certified. Currently, Marty Schuma, Derek Didriksen, and Josh de Vos are the three project managers that are well along in the process of becoming LEED certified. After these three are certified, two more will go through the process to become certified.

Additionally, we are currently involved with three projects that utilize Green design in hopes of gaining LEED certification. The Morrison Maierle Office Building project has just been completed, and Energy Starthe Bozeman City Hall project is mid-way through construction. The Montana State Fund project construction will begin in late August.

In addition to experience with LEED we are also the GCCM on the Bozeman High Renovation project and have been working with the design team for over a year. This building is designed to receive an Energy Star Rating of at least 75 on the Department of Energy’s Energy Star rating system for schools.
